What a nice site. Simple and to the point. Stayed at karumba Point Sunset Park in October. Fabulous time. Superb weather and we caught some great fish. Loved staying in your villas. keep up the good work. Will be back again this year.

Hi,
I heard that Karumba is one of the best fishing places in Australia. Can anyone tell me how to catch a barra. I am coming to karumba in September 2008. Want to stay at Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park. Friends tell me it is the best in Karumba, right near the water. Is this so?
Thanks Ray

G'day Ray, Mate I can tell you, Karumba has the best fishing in Aus. And mate you can catch some great Barras. Some people use mullet as bait but I use pilchards. Have a look at the fish on the Karumba Sunset Carvan Site and you will see some giant Barras. Hope this helps.

Hi, Have booked into Sunset for July/August. Have read some of the negative comments about sullage & fish odours, is this just city slickers who are too fussy or has this now been fixed. All other reports we have heard are great. How easy is it for non fishermen to catch barra. Rocky Ross

Hello Ross,
I have been coming to Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park for the last 5 years. Mate there are no smells etc. This is the best park in Aus and you can catch a barra right off the beach. Just have a look at the website www.sunsetcp.com.au and see what I mean. I love it here. Jack
